Outpost@Armory is pleased present The Full Dollar Collection of Contemporary Art, an ongoing, neighborhood-based public art project conceived and launched by X. Andrade, an artist and anthropologist based in Ecuador.

Small Skyscraper is a sculpture as well as a prototype for a hypothetical dwelling. Described by Burden as “a modern-day log cabin,” Small Skyscraper represents a quasi-legal structure that exploits a loophole Burden discovered in the Los Angeles County building codes.

Foye has chosen to explore the arena of opera, dance, and art; seeking to create a conversation between the genres. As soprano opera singer Sonia Kazarova robustly resounds Strauss' modern opera Salome, two flanking dancers, Mecca Andrews and Lora Ivanova, will physically interpret the duality of spatial dramatics on a canvas of charcoal.

Working in photography, video, and performance, Nicholas Grider is broadly concerned with ideas of masculinity in contemporary culture, from the US military to death metal to Houdini and escape magic to portraits of businessmen.

See Jackson's installation created from the detritus of the January 22 Rose Bowl plane crash. Exhibited alongside The War Room (2006-07) — an ode to the second Iraq War and the George W. Bush regime— these two pieces reflect upon the Armory's historical transformation from active military facility to contemporary arts center.
