Every Person Has a Name: A 25-hour Holocaust Commemoration and Vigil

Our Community Partner Jewish Federation of the Greater San Gabriel & Pomona Valleys is having a 24-hour Holocaust Remembrance Program Every Person Has a Name event beginning Saturday, March 22, at 7 pm through Sunday, March 23, at 8 pm. This was rescheduled from its original January date, and this new date carries significant historical weight. It was on March 22, 1933 that the Dachau concentration camp opened—the first of its kind under Nazi rule.

The program begins on Saturday, March 22, at 7 pm with a commemoration ceremony, immediately followed by a 24-hour vigil reading the names of those who perished during the Holocaust. This year, in addition to featuring an exhibition from Anne Frank LA entitled Anne Frank – A History for Today, they are partnering with Armory Center for the Arts.

The Armory is participating in the reading of the names holocaust remembrance event at Pasadena City Hall. Michelle Ohm, an Armory Teaching Artist will be leading a weaving project for families from 10 am - 1 pm, on Sunday, March 23.
