The Real Me
This annual exhibition of developmentally delayed adults from the Pasadena Adaptive and Inclusive Recreation art program is a summer tradition at the Armory. For this year's exhibition, each member of the class has created heartfelt works that illustrate their notion of "The Real Me."
Instructor Karen Bagnard, an Altadena-based artist, was inspired by her student's enthusiasm. "I have a deep admiration for these artists. Developmentally delayed people are often under-valued, but this exhibition gives them an opportunity to showcase their talents in a real art space. It's been a pleasure to witness my students reach inside themselves and bring forth something uniquely expressive."
Please join us for a public reception with the artists at the Armory on Saturday, July 20, from 3:00 to 5:00 PM. Booklets of this exhibition will be available during the reception for a $10-minimum donation to the Pasadena Recreation and Parks Foundation. Donations are tax deductible.
The Armory's Community Room is open daily from 12:00 to 5:00 PM. Admission is always free.
