Trudie Stobel Book Discussion
In conjunction with her current exhibition in our Community Room, please join artist and Holocaust survivor Trudie Strobel along with author Jody Savin for the first public discussion of Savin's forthcoming book Stitched & Sewn: The Life-Saving Art of Trudie Strobel. This dramatic story of how a needle and thread saved Strobel’s life twice features stunning images of Strobel’s artwork by photographer Ann Elliott Cutting. Advanced copies of the book will be available for sale at the event. This event is free and open to everyone.
Immediately following the book discussion, attendees are invited to visit nearby Pasadena City Hall where the Jewish Federation of San Gabriel Valley and Pomona Valleys will present Every Person Has a Name. The program begins at 7:00 PM with a commemoration ceremony. Immediately following, the names of those who perished during the Holocaust will be read aloud during a 24-hour vigil. Every Person Has a Name coincides with the United Nation's International Holocaust Remembrance Day, marking the 75th anniversary of Auschwitz death camp's liberation by Soviet forces.
