In collaboration with our partner organizations from the Arts for Healing and Justice Network (AHJN), the Armory helped provide a series of 20 healing-informed art workshops (and 60 of these art kits) to young people at 3 local residential therapeutic sites: Hillsides, Trinity Services, and Dream Home Care. In addition to the Armory, AHJN members that also provided programming were Give a Beat, Homeboy Art Academy, No Easy Props, Street Poets, Tia Chucha, Versa Style, and WriteGirl/Bold Ink — all of this made possible with the generous support from Great Public Schools Now.
The Armory is a founding member of the Arts for Healing and Justice Network (AHJN) — an interdisciplinary collaborative that provides exceptional arts programming in order to build resiliency and wellness, eliminate recidivism, and transform the juvenile justice system.
