Writing Between Words and Silence: Kenji Liu

Writing Between Words and Silence: Kenji Liu
Dates: Saturday, Feb 25, 2017
Time: 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM

Join the Armory and Antena for our first cross-language poet-in-residence in the Caldwell Gallery on Saturday, February 25 from 1–4pm with Kenji Liu. This drop-in activity is free and open to the public.

Read, write, and converse with writers whose work exists in the vibrant space between languages, and in the multiplicity of Englishes that populate Los Angeles poetics. Bring an empty notebook, questions about a particular piece of writing, and/or your desire to read in good company.

Antena's space in the exhibition Between Words and Silence: The Work of Translation contains hundreds of small —and tiny—press books and DIY editions with a focus on multilingual writing, texts in translation, and experimental writing in Spanish.

Join the Armory and Antena for our first workshop in the Caldwell Gallery on Saturday, February 25 from 1–4pm with Kenji Liu. This workshop is free and open to the public.

Kenji C. Liu is author of Map of an Onion, national winner of the 2015 Hillary Gravendyk Poetry Prize, and a Kundiman fellow.

Stay tuned for future poets-in-residence in this series on March 18 with Brent Armendinger and March 25 with Vickie Vértiz.
