ArtNight Pasadena at the Armory

At the Armory, you can tour our current exhibitions, try some hands-on art making activities, sample craft beer, and dance the night away to the old time jazz stylings of Janet Klein and her Parlor Boys.

Enjoy a free evening of art and entertainment as Pasadena’s most prominent institutions swing open their doors for ArtNight. Make the Armory your hub location, then hop on free shuttle buses connecting dozens of other Pasadena venues, including the Norton Simon Museum, Art Center, and PMCA.

Birth Death Breath Diane Christiansen and Jeanne Dunning:
Birth Death Breath

This exhibition is an opera “performed” by inflatable lawn decorations in various stages of inflation and deflation. As the various characters rise from the ground and begin to sing, they experience their inflation as a kind of coming back to life.

the act of dying upon one’s self and other remnants of a rebirth

laub’s exhibition features new sculpture, which includes ceramics, glass-blown objects, and assemblage, as well as works on paper. The exhibition addresses themes of absence, loss, mourning, death, and suicide.

After examining vectors of oppression down to the quantum scale, Jennifer Moon returns from her adventures of mapping shame and trauma within forms of identification to present a new musical video installation ignited by a rejuvenated commitment to fantasy and magic.
