La Casita is a vibrant neighborhood center maintained by the Armory which—through the Armory and on-site partner organizations—offers a variety of programs to the Madison neighborhood community. Residents of all ages take part in art classes and participate in programs like parental training, after school tutoring for middle school and teen students, English language classes for adults, job preparation training, and pre-school classes. Since 2010, the Armory Exhibitions Department has produced a temporary public art program in the garden in front of La Casita.

The Armory strives to create innovative, high-quality programming that is sensitive to community needs.

Time Bank members spend an hour doing something for someone, then earn a "Time Credit" to "pay" someone to do something for them. The Time Bank website introduces members to each other, facilitates the exchange of services, and keeps track of the hours exchanged. They also have monthly potlucks for members to meet and set up service exchanges.

Pasadena Learning Gardens is dedicated to understanding and transforming the way we produce, distribute, and consume food. They educate communities to understand what “good food” is and how to grow, buy and share it. They build and support learning gardens, educate communities to live more sustainably, and facilitate community transformation through collaboration with neighbors on a similar journey.

The San Gabriel Valley Literacy Council provides English language and citizenship instruction to meet the evolving needs of adults in the west San Gabriel Valley. Our special focus is on beginning learners and those who need more flexible scheduling to accommodate the demands of daily life. The SGVLC is an all-volunteer organization—from our teachers to our support staff, a rarity these days. Classes are offered in partnership with various organizations in the west San Gabriel Valley, including libraries, schools, churches, and community centers.
