   IN THE COMMUNITY

The Armory’s mission is to build on the power of art to transform lives and communities through creating, teaching and presenting the arts. In the community the Armory has provided a wide range of programming for students of all ages since 1983. Classes are taught by professionally trained teaching artists committed to creating safe, supportive environments in which students can have fun learning experiences about contemporary art, while developing their artistic skills and exploring stimulating ideas.

In Pasadena and Altadena, the Armory partners with the City of Pasadena and many community groups to offer free after after-school art classes in parks, libraries and community-based organizations located in Northwest neighborhoods.

The Armory actively collaborates with agencies and community groups to provide one-day workshops which support community-wide efforts.

The Armory can also provide fee-based, collaboratively designed after-school programming, one-day workshops or after school gallery visits.
