Make something this summer! Adult painting, drawing, ceramics, Photoshop, and printmaking classes enrolling now. Want to learn traditional B&W darkroom photography (like, using film)? We'll teach you. Plus, we have the only letterpress program of its kind for adults in the region.
TEENS: Teens 16+ can take most adult classes (with permission). Contact Carrie Whitney at 626.792.5101 x131 or cwhitney@ armoryarts.org. Enrollment is on a first come first serve basis, limit one class per teen student per session. Students must be 16 on the first day class begins. There is a $50 registration fee per class for Art High students plus materials cost noted by class. The registration and material fee is nonrefundable.
There are nine, week-long sessions to choose from. Classes for younger children introduce materials, concepts, and techniques designed to challenge imaginations and strengthen abilities in the context of playful exploration. Classes for older children enhance skills, broaden concepts, and provide an expanded, creative experience to explore ideas.
The cost is $110 for each class (5 class meetings). The cost of each class for members is $99 beginning at Family Level membership. Materials are included.
NOTE: Due to the July 4th Holiday, Week 1 classes meet 4 times. Week 1 cost is $88 per class ($79, members).
Is your 12-14 year old leaning towards a creative career? Extended class times let students engage in ambitious explorations of concepts, expression, connections, applications, and materials. Classes include stop-motion animation, drawing, painting, ceramics, photography, and sculpture. Limited to fourteen students, classes allow for more individualized instruction. Enrollment is first come, first served.
Unless otherwise noted, tuition is $200. Tuition for members is $180. Materials are included. Students must be 12 by first day of class.
Art schools are competitive, so give your college-bound teen a head start. Your 15-18 year old will work with professional artists who are experts in their field. Classes include painting, drawing, animation, video production, photography, and letterpress.
Armory Art High high school studio classes are tuition-free.
