Teens 12-14 • S.2 (7/31-8/24)



Classes for students ages 12-14 are designed to provide in-depth experiences. Instruction concentrates on visual arts and media arts. Extended class time allows students and instructors to engage in more ambitious explorations of concepts, creative expression, historical and cultural context, connections and relations, applications, and materials. All students must be 12 years old by the first day of class. The Armory reserves the right to request proof of age at any time.

Classes limited to 12 students, allowing for individualized instruction.
Photography classes limited to 10.

  • Costs vary and are listed in each time slot.
  • Member prices begin at the $100 Family membership level.
  • Materials are included.

(Ages 12-14) Create multiples of your own design on fabric, paper, t-shirts and more. We’ll explore a variety of printmaking techniques, such as ink-and-paper prints, foam prints, wood block textile printing, stencil silk screening, linoleum cuts, and solar etching prints. Learn to combine these techniques to create multi-layered works of art.

An emphasis will be placed on choosing subject matter and articulating individual visions. Brainstorm ideas for how best to narrate your story and express a particular mood and style. Using 2D media such as painting, drawing, photography, and collage, chart the arc of your career by varying your album covers’ subjects, locations, personality and costumes.
