Coachella music festival organizers Goldenvoice will debut the Arroyo Seco Weekend— with three stages of live music along with curated menus from LA’s celebrated restaurants and chefs at the Rose Bowl-adjacent Brookside golf course. Headliners include Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Mumford and Sons, Alabama Shakes, Weezer, and Fitz and the Tantrums, just to name a few.
During the festival, Armory Center for the Arts will present installations and interactive experiences by local artists that speak to global issues. If you're attending the Arroyo Seco Weekend, please stop between sets and pay us a visit.
Red Line by Doron Gazit
Symbolizing a persistent thread weaving through earth’s ecological issues, Doron Gazit’s inflatable red “lines” have spanned the globe—from Alaska and Dubai to the San Joaquin Valley and the Dead Sea—connecting cultures that are experiencing the stresses of drought, climate change, and other environmental red alerts. With nature as his canvas, Gazit "draws" with three-dimensional lines, reveals invisible currents in nature, and creates a dialogue of land, air, wind, and sun.

Creator of the ubiquitous, billowing “Air Dancers” for the 1996 Olympics, Israeli-trained Los Angelino Doron Gazit is an artist, industrial designer, and environmentalist whose work interfaces with nature, technology, and industry with modern sensibilities and playfulness.
Dunnage Balls by Peter Tolkin Architecture
Architect Peter Tolkin has designed three geometric “dunnage balls,” made up of dunnage bags that are used to stabilize loads during shipping, to form the open-air interactive scent lab hosted by Andre Barnwell. Dunnage bags, filled with air, unwittingly transport air across the globe, and here represent the unseen bonds of people throughout the world.

Interactive Scent Lab with Andre Barnwell
Nestled inside Tolkin's Dunnage Balls, fragrance designer Andre Barnwell will host a hands-on, interactive scent lab throughout the festivities from 1 - 7 pm, referencing the ancient perfume trade that catalyzed cross-cultural movement throughout history of human civilization.
