Art + Drama Summer Classes for Kids

Encourage your kids to create and express themselves this summer! For 17 years, beloved Armory Teaching Artist Grace Lacques' wildly popular classes are a unique combination visual and performing arts that teach your kids skills to last a lifetime. Grace is only offering 5 week-long classes this summer. Follow the links below and register today before it's too late.

About the Instructor
Grace Lacques began her theater studies in France, studying master Etienne Decroux’s physical theater techniques and continuing her eight years of acting training in Italy, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. Grace adapted these techniques for children and has been teaching drama for all ages throughout Southern California for over 25 years. She has been teaching, writing, and directing short plays at the Armory for over 15 years. Grace is a co-founding member of the Samai Theater group, whose recent original production Silent Trafficking was performed at UCLA, UC Irvine, and UC Santa Barbara.

Silent Movie Sillies
(Ages 6-11) Study silent film masters Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton and create your own short theater scenes. This fun drama class emphasizes elements of physical comedy and universal expression. Learn the basics of non-verbal communication and how to project this ancient art on the stage.
